This device looks very well made and is a incredible design as it backs up the Thermal Fan Switch, that has been known to fail. It also has the advantage for the user to adjust their own desired engine temperature. The concept here is to keep the engine temperature stable weather you are driving down the hiway or setting at a stop light. The less engine temperature fluctuation between the two states, the less movement of the head on the block. This translate to less head gasket fatigue. By design and nature the Saab original design had quite a wide range of temperature fluctuation. This system allows the use of the old or original thermal fan sensor to remain. I do recommend nor using the tap splices and soldering the connections instead.

This is a new product. In the past I would replace the original thermal fan switch with a different heat range to achieve the same results. My replacement switch sold for $12.46 mail order and the Genuine Saab Switch sold for $60.00 plus! The best combination is to use the cool fan switch and this device to keep the system in check should the fan sensor fail. However the replacement cool thermal fan switch is not required to achieve results with use of this device.
